How cute am I?
Jacob's time in the pool was eye opening. One would never think that he was big enough to flip himself out of this little toy but he sure did. For the rest of the summer he had to play on the step or be held by someone to be in the pool. He looks like the shy unadventurous type but looks are deceiving.
Ryan went from needing a life vest to being able to swim like a fish. He was just the right age to get the most out of his swim lessons. By the time we left he could swim from one end of the pool to the other. His favorite thing was diving. He tried hard to dive down and retrieve the rings that sank but he could not keep from floating at the surface.
Last but not least Kate was the child with no fear. She still needs the life vest most of the time but she learned a lot at her lessons. She had the most fun jumping from the side and she amazed us all with her ability to do summersaults into the water. It was rare for her to have any energy left at the end of the day.
Oh the conversations that were had.
Every day these two were thick as thieves. One of the topics up for discussion was whether or not a dinosaur, if they were still alive, would fit in a house and if they would be able to eat you in one bite. This topic was very lively. Kate believed that all dinosaurs ate plants and Ryan was not going to let her think that. If I recall the conversation ended with someone saying that we needed to do more research on this when we got back to our house.
