Trips and More Trips

I had a great opportunity to take a bunch of photos but of course I was too busy to get the camera out. I am just now getting to the computer to post an update. It took us a total of three days to drive from Portland to Phoenix. I was amazed at how well the drive went. I must applaud my sister-in-law for allowing my children to ride in her car (they have a built in DVD player). It worked out really well, not only were they entertained but they also were able to spend time with cousins.

July 1st got off to a bang with driving from Portland to Boise. From door to door it took us 9 hours. This surprised me. Spent the night and then got up the next morning and headed to Salt Lake City. This drive took about 7 hours. Once we got to my brother's house we took a little break. On July 3rd we spent the day resting and restocking supplies. The children can eat through so many little snacks. My sister and her fiance flew in from Phoenix to drive down with me in my childless car. I was excited to have the company. Later on that night we did go and watch fireworks. Very fun. Jake even clapped his hands each time one went off. On the 4th of July we headed to Phoenix. After a late start we got into Phoenix around 11pm. Total driving for the day was around 13 hours. I think on the way home I will be splitting this into two days.

Tomorrow we are off to San Diego with my mom and dad, brother and his family and my little ones of course. We will have a one to one ratio with adults to children. This is helping me settle my mind as I have a fear of children bolting away into a crowd. The children are really looking forward to seeing all the sea animals and I can not wait to have a chance to get a picture finally. So far this has been a summer to remember.
