While we were in Phoenix we had the chance to visit a fire station. Our friend Allen is a firefighter and was at a station that has a ladder truck the day we visited. Uncle Bret was invited to go up the ladder. It was very impressive to watch the process for getting the truck ready.

Even more impressive is how high it can go. This photo is showing the ladder about 8 stories high. It can continue to extend as well as swing around. I bet the view was spectacular.

From the ground the children had a great time watching. They were able to see all of the items that are on the ladder truck as well as the noises it makes. Ryan even took a short drive. The siren was a hit in his book.

Kate felt that the hat was "too hebby" or as we would say "too heavy". I thought that she might get scared with the noise but over all it was a great experience for her to see firemen and get a reminder about fire safety. Thanks Allen for giving us a great tour.
