The Stegosaurus Build

We went to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) yesterday to visit an exhibit that I knew Ryan and Kate would love. We went mostly for the featured exhibit:

Dinosaurs: China's
Ancient Giants

There was an opportunity to have some hands on dinosaur building. By the time we were done helping we had put together well over 70 pieces. Thankfully they were all numbered for those of us who had never put a stegosaurus together. Ryan really felt that he had the hang of it. Later as we were leaving he chose something similar (but smaller) at the gift shop to take home to try and piece together. Once he has completed his dinosaur we will have to post a picture of it.

Ryan liked that the models would roar and Kate enjoyed pretending that she was scared. She later decided to rescue a little bird (toy) at the gift shop. She told Grandma that she could give it a good home. All the way home she "talked" with the bird and gave it hugs which would then make the bird chirp. She decided to name her bird Tessy. I am not really sure where that comes from.
Jacob had fun getting to know the dinosaurs on a much smaller scale. They had some that were for younger children to play with. He liked being able to pick them up and bang them back to the ground.
