Today Jacob hit the two week mark. It feels as though we have been home with him for a month or more. It is strange how time can be slow for some while it speeds by for others even though it is moving by at the same rate. We are in the slow mode now. The other children are going about their day as though things have not changed. Occasionally they stop their play to look and see if the baby is in fact still at our house.Mostly they want to touch his head and kiss his face. This is tough for Kate when she has her fireman's hat on. She is still working out her spacial relationships.
A big fear that I had was that they would be awaken at night when Jacob cried but so far they are staying in bed and getting all the rest we are lacking. Jacob went to the doctor for the first time today and has surpassed his birth weight. He currently weighs in at 9 pounds, 5 ounces. So far so good. If only we could get him to spend more time sleeping at night. Philip returns to work on Monday and I am going to miss the extra set of hands. I am sure that there will be much to report this coming week. Until then.
